Wifi difficult to set up

I have not been able to ‘Add a Grill’ because the WiFi setup won’t complete. Online there is discussion about ensuring 5GHz is turned off on router because smoker will only connect to 2.4 GHz frequency. Seems a little excessive to not reap benefits of 5GHz frequency so I can BBQ. So the app is good for recipes but that’s about it.

I have nothing but trouble connecting my grill to my home network. I even put my router right next to the grill and it still have difficulty connecting. Please improve the wifi on the ironwood 885

I love my Traeger, and I loved the app, up until the search function was removed. I liked that I was able to plug in what type of meat I had, or what I wanted to make, and get recipes for that. Having to scroll through all the recipes by animal isn’t good, now I just google for recipes instead.

Love my grill and this app...UNTIL THE LATEST UPDATE! Now none of the recipes have ingredients listed. The recipes just go straight into the ‘steps’ but don’t list ingredients and quantities. Please fix!

Searching recipes doesn’t work (search results show 0). Grill won’t link to app. Cooking times displayed are often wrong. The times stated in the actual instructions are very different causing over cooking or undercooking. Ruining perfectly good meat.

I used to be able to press make now for a recipe and see it on the grill so that I can reference the steps quickly from the app.
With the update 18h ago it seems this feature no longer works. Pressing make now does not actually show the recipe in the app.
its a pain to have to go back and forth between the grill and the recipes menu.

Love my Traeger but as a dealer I have a few comments. The wifi is terribly glitchy and is not a smooth process. I’ve had multiple grills get stuck when adding them to the network. Now I can’t remove a grill from my account, and the new app doesn’t allow multiple grills to a single account. Which doesn’t make any sense if you own multiple grills. Tried calling Traeger and it’s an hour wait time. Tried to have them call me back and keep getting disconnected. Extremely frustrating.

All the great features are now gone. There is no more custom cook cycles and to me that was the main purpose of the app. Next time I am looking for something I will be saving my money and instead of getting a timberline I will be looking at something cheaper, maybe like a pit boss or broil king.

This is my second traeger grill which I purchased for the wifi. It arrived and worked fine for months. Then Traeger updated the software and now it never works. My phone shows 4 bars standing beside bbq. The grill says there is no wifi signal. This sucks. On my 4 th call for customer support

I love my Traeger 575 Pro. It’s fantastic, I’ve used it everyday since purchase.
My biggest and really only gripe is when I go to add my grill to my account, it gets stuck. My phone goes to add it, joins the Traeger Hotspot, and then does nothing. It should join the Traeger to my home WiFi but it literally does nothing. So infuriating.

I have been using this app since before I owned one of your grills: it has been awesome! Recently I cannot get the measurement amounts for the ingredients. For example it says 1 breadcrumbs. Is that a cup, tablespoon, teaspoon? I need to check the recipe online to get the measurements. Any chance you could fix this? I am having the problem on multiple devices, one of which is new.

Love my Traeger and the app as well.
My sole critique is the vetting of recipes. Far too many recipes have incomplete information for ingredients - for example “1/2 almond extract”. 1/2 of what - a cup? A tablespoon?
I’ve seen issues like this in ~50% of recipes I’ve looked at recently, so I lose some faith in the recipes.

Overall the timberline 1300 is great....but the wifi connection and setup is simply brutal. Almost impossible to connect on a good day and non stop disconnects. Thought they had it figured out with the last update - nope. Get this 2.4Ghz channel issue sorted soon please. This is my 4th Traeger...sticking with you guys but the tech side needs some geek work. Grill gets a 5 - wifi connectivity gets a -5.
