Our app offers account upgrades as follows:
– Upgrade to 1 Year of Letterboxd Pro or Patron
– Pro tier adds annual and all-time stats pages based on your account activity, advanced activity and streaming service filters (including the option to pick and filter by the streaming services you subscribe to, powered by JustWatch.com), list cloning and removes third-party ads.
– Patron tier provides all the benefits of Pro, plus a profile backdrop taken from the first of your four favorite films (if available), a listing on the Patrons page of our website and early access to new features.
– Payment is charged to your iTunes Account when you confirm purchase and your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renewal is disabled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Bad Ad Implementation
This app used to be so clean and looked great. I recently updated, and am appalled.
I understand making money is a priority, but the ads could be implemented way better. First off, having them in the MIDDLE of youe homepage is horrendous. It's so out of place, and kinda feels like a slap on the face if you're using the app as a free user.
Now the ad banner at the top of the movie lists isn't the worst, however at least make it fill in it's area, and not just look so terrible. It really ruins the clean look of the app which attracted me to using it in the first place.
Now maybe some people would think I'm making too big a deal, but I wouldn't be writing this review if you gave users a one-time purchase for removing ads. I don't care about subscribing to Pro, I just use the app to make nice looking movie lists. I'd be happy to support that way, if it was even an option.
I hope this is seen and considered. I want the best for an app I use frequently and thought was really well designed before.

Love it, really could use some improvements
Would give it 5 stars if it didn’t crash all the time. And allowed private messaging. It’s also sometimes hard to get people to see your reviews, maybe that can be fixed in some way.

I’d like to see:
- average ratings for actors/directors when you go to their pages, as well as in the stats page (for most watched actors/directors). It’s a lot of effort to click back and forth to see your ratings, at a glance would be fantastic.
- The ability to mute a user so you never have to see their one sentence reviews.
- more stars page stuff: average ratings for countries and genres at a glance

Good app but very glitchy
Love being able to keep track of what I’ve watched, and keep an up to date watch list. The app is extremely slow, glitchy and at times unresponsive which ruins the user experience quite a bit.

Again, I understand that you need a way to monetize that app, but the ads are way too prominent and intrusive and really ruin the experience of using the app.
I don’t want the pro features so maybe make a 1-time purchase option to remove the ads. I’d pay 10$ for an app like this.

i get you need to earn money to support the app somehow but there are other ways. here’s some suggestions, you could add more features to the pro tier or add more tiers all together, some that cost less, some that cost more. give the people that enjoy your app more reason and ways to support it. i, along with others, am not happy about the ads and i feel like its a cop out of sorts. it also feels wrong to just shove them in there after running the app for so long. the ads are not making me want to purchase the pro version, rather, they are pushing me away from the app all together. try other options please

I use this app for everything. I track what I’ve watched, I track what I want to watch, I track what movies I think are good, I track what movies I own, I make lists that are rational or stupid and I don’t even care because I love doing it so much. If you love movies you need to get this app

A Fantastic Tool for any type of Film Buff!
I am on this app at least once a day at least. Due to circumstances beyond, watching films helps me throughout a day. This huge library of film, along with others opinions/ recommendations have opened my world to so much more in possibilities. I have told other film people about this app, and I have been thanked for doing so. If you are Into film as an entertainment/ or as a hobby/ or as an education... this App is what you are looking for to add in your endeavours!

Great app!
I found out about Letterboxd last year and, as a movie addict, I am loving the app! The only thing that I am missing from it right now is a way to favourite my fav cast/crew people so I can access their info without having to search for their names every single time... I am trying to watch everything that is available from a certain number of actors, so it really would help if I could have a section on my profile that I could go back and check my favs on a regular basis... Maybe a list? I don’t know, you tell me... ;)

I’ve been looking for something like this, but...
Very well designed app. I’ve been looking for something like this for ages. I’ve been using notes on my iPhone to keep track of my ‘movies I want to watch’ list. This is a way better.
The only thing holding this back from a 5* review is its options for tracking streaming services. It only gives the options of iTunes and Amazon. I wish it could see what is on all the major Canadian steaming services like Netflix, TMN, Crave, etc. That would really help finding the movies I want to watch.

Error with loading
i love your guys app to death and havent had a problem until recently. it seems the app cannot load a majority of things and takes some time to load movies. lots of error messages. i hope this gets fixed soon
