Disgusting lack of ethics

Drivers can show up 15 minutes late without a problem if it’s something like traffic. However, I arrived 1 minute after the agreed time and in the same minute the driver had left. The worse part is that I warned the driver that I was going to be just a single minute late, and shared my location. Even called him but he didn’t answer. Meeting was at 6.30, I arrived at 31. The driver had left 20 seconds before. I had to wait nearly 2 hours in a parking lot with a suitcase in the rain. Driver as well as Poparide refused a refund despite multiple exchanges. Disgusting lack of ethics.

Poparide are thieves

This app shut my account down that had over $700 in it. I drove from Brampton to Ottawa and back for over 5 days and they just robbed me. My time and gas expenses and nothing to show for it. Don’t ever let any money sit. They just block and suspend your account and don’t even allow any explanation or justification before blocking you. You can block my account as it is your app…but at least give me my money that is sitting there!! Biggest crooks!

Extremely disappointing first experience with Poparide

I booked a ride from Montréal to Mississauga and was at the pickup point well before the scheduled time. I called the driver more than 9 times — no response. He only messaged 30 minutes later, saying he was leaving and admitting he was late. I even reported him before the departure time, but Poparide still blamed me as a no-show and refused to give a refund.
On top of that, my friend, who also booked the same ride, was denied entry by the driver without reason — and Poparide ignored this part completely.
I provided screenshots, proof of calls, and even recorded a video to show the situation clearly. Their customer support only focused on defending the driver, with no fair investigation into our side.
I had planned to use this service regularly for travel between Toronto and Montreal, but after this stressful and unfair experience, I won’t be using it again — and I’ll advise others to think twice before trusting the platform.

Cancellation unfairness

Been using the application and it was fine however whenever you tried to book and put a time limit for the response the response wont post right away.Now you have to withdraw the request and book another one and never be sure if it will be approved or not. And its not fair that the driver could cancel you and whenever you cancels your appointment like in the matter of 2minutes like you will be charged. This cancellation occurs within minutes of booking and well before the scheduled pick-up time. I believe this policy should be more flexible in situations like mine, where the decision to cancel was made almost immediately. I tried to email the support system but still insist the 24hrs policy.

The app maker says different thjngs if you see their promos however they are absolutely horrible when it comes to being in the platform, their support is also the worst.

Blocked my account

SCAM- Disappointed with Account Ban Policy.

THERE ARE STILL LOTS OF PEOPLE PUTTING THEIR MOBILE NUMBERS ON RIDE POSTINGS AND EVEN CHARGE BOOK THE RIDE AND CHARGE MORE AMOUNTS OUTSIDE OF THE POPARIDE. I used to rely on Poparide for transportation, but my account was banned almost two years ago without a clear explanation. Despite reaching out multiple times, requesting and apologizing if I unknowingly/knowingly broke a rule, they haven’t given me another chance, did not even bother to explain why did they ban my account. Instead, I get the same response asking me to fill out a form, only to be denied again. They also told me in an email that their system is going through some process because of that the system has automatically suspended some of the accounts due to a low rate of approved bookings and possible breaches of our Terms of Service. And there are still many people who are breaking the rules. THERE ARE STILL LOTS OF PEOPLE PUTTING THEIR MOBILE NUMBERS ON RIDE POSTINGS AND EVEN CHARGE BOOK THE RIDE AND CHARGE MORE AMOUNTS OUTSIDE OF THE POPARIDE. But these people won’t get affected despite of doing these things. And here we are, we don’t even know what we did wrong and have our accounts blocked and suspended.
Poparide is a crucial service where I live, and I feel this decision was unfair, especially since others seem to continue using the app despite similar issues. I hope the team improves their support and considers cases like mine more thoughtfully in the future.

Worst Experience Ever – Unfair & Unprofessional!

Poparide permanently blocked my account without any valid reason, proof, or evidence. They didn’t even bother to explain or give me a chance to clarify anything. It’s completely unfair and unprofessional! I had a great history with the platform, and out of nowhere, they just banned me without justification. Their support is useless, and they don’t care about their users. Stay away from this terrible service unless you want to risk losing your account for no reason!

No customer support

They blocked my account without any warning or explanation, they simply say that you violated their policy, but I read their policy, I couldn’t find single terms that I violated, also they don’t have customer support team to reach out, their only support is chatbot and it’s not useful. Also, if you send an email on their support email id, you will get automated reply without any action. At least they should have some courtesy to mention the reason rather than stating general reason. I started using Kangaride and it is working smoothly.

Trying to take money from passengers

Garbage app

My rides are not showing on app when i try to ask any question they do not response only chatbot gives recorded response. I just wanted to confirm that my account is blocked or not. But they are able to give answer this question. Poparide team is useless. Very bad experience

Bad expereince - drove twenty + people

I drove 20+ people but I got the message from support:
understand your frustration, and l'd be happy to clarify this for you. Even if you've driven more than 20 people, there's still a limit on invitations. For experienced drivers (those who've driven more than 10 people), you can invite up to 10 passengers per trip, with a maximum of 20 invitations total.
If you're still only able to invite 1 person, there might be an issue with your account status or a technical glitch. It would be best to reach out to our support team directly so they can look into your specific account and resolve this for you.
What was I doing all this while? It's a buggy software where profile is still limited even though user has driven more than 20 people. You guys need to fix this ASAP as it's very bad customer expereince

Banned me for no reason

I’ve been using the app since 2019, had 5 star reviews and it just banned me for no good reason. Tried to explain the situation to the customer service and the bot just answered that my account is banned and won’t be answering any emails. Very disappointing considering I’ve been reporting clearly fake accounts since people started making those. I’ll be using Amigo from now on.

Account permanently blocked due to 1 violation?

So, I was accused of three violations, out of which, one I accept but the other two are misunderstanding and not fair.
And now you guys have permanently blocked my account and have the nerve to say that you “prioritise active and rule-abiding members” when I try to dispute your decision?
You guys are pathetic and deserve the loses that you incur due to people abusing your platform. And that is because you punish those who were wronged and try to make amends.

They do not pay out

High Fees - Good support

They charge the driver separately and the rider gets charged another 8-10$ per ride on top of the trip.
Customer service is good, they refunded us the trip after severe weather conditions - snow storm- was expected on the day. Took some time to communicate back and forth but they acknowledged the situation and refunded us the trip.

Really bad customer experience

I had soo many bad experiences. Ill make sure everyone on this app sees how bad this app is. There are good people good drivers but the big major inconvenience is that drivers can cancel on you last minute so then for you to get another driver it will be extreay difficult. It happens to me often. Plus I got scammed by a driver that never came and I DID NOT get my refund. There is no customer service experience on the application at all.

Pop a Ride Recommendation 2025

I recommend using this app especially last minute when you are in a time crunch, even when you can’t find a driver from your location , book the nearest location and speak to the driver respectfully, 9 out of 10 they will make arrangements for a closer proximity area where both of you can meet, in all, it’s a problem solver.

Worst App Ever

This has to be by far one of the worst app. They blocked my account without any warning. When I tried to log in, they said that a user had reported my account about me not responding to them. I explained to them the situation that I never received messages for the last 3 rides that I posted on the app. I even had a 5 star rating and review on my account. Instead of connecting with me and explaining me what went wrong and how I can make sure to not do the things that actually made my account activities questionable in the first place, they just responded by saying that my account has been permanently blocked when I tried logging in again.
Whoever was on the customer service team was feeling lazy that day and didn’t take enough effort to keep a customer who helps other customers and build the community.

Not working and worst customer support ever

The app doesn’t show posts.. let’s say if 20 people have posted that they are going from one location to another then the app only shows 2-4 of them which makes it hard for drivers as well as passengers to get rides.. it was good until last month and it’s been going down hill from this month.. need to find an alternative.. and the customer service is an ai bot.. and the most human response you can ever get is Ramon from poparide via email and Ramon is crazy stupid and rude

Pathetic app

Worst app ever. A customer requested for ride and his pick up and drop off timing doesn’t match with mine so I didn’t accept it and guess what poparide customer support permanently banned my account. Also, customer shared his number and he wanted to book ride outside of poparide app and after looking at conversation they blocked my id. I contacted them on support mail and still blocked my account. WOW !!! This is such a useless app. Google and iPhone App Store should ban this app permanently.

Privacy issue

as you can read from other reviews, it’s not good for drivers at all. My account was blocked due to no reason. The customers can book you but you have to accept or decline in one hour which is too short for us drivers to react to! Some of us are busy in school, exams and other work related stuff.

Not good for the Drivers

I've experienced poor customer support as a driver, with long response times and unhelpful resolutions. I feel undervalued when asked to do door-to-door pickups for low fares. I suggest improving support response times and reviewing fare structures to ensure fair compensation for drivers.

Must-have app! Couple suggestions

Great app with growing number of users. Easy to use and review option help eliminate bad riders. Suggestions: 1) group all riders from the same ride under one chat so driver can msg all at once. 2) let rider pre-enter pickup/drop off address if the driver indicates flexible locations. 3) integrate google maps along with suggestion 2. (And ps. The msg system is still a little laggy on my end)

Easy app, fees are too high (drivers perspective)

I’ve driven with this app, and it’s great for coordinating rides (much easier than posting boards), and it’s nice too see profiles. Showing the map is a nice touch, although it’s just an automatic map and you can’t change the route.
The fees seem pretty high though. App fees are ~15%, which goes directly to the app developers for a fairly simple app (with no insurance or guarantees like Airbnb).
People using the app are price conscious and I think this is unreasonably high, especially when they charge the fees on each portion of a round trip.

Good system that works well. As a driver I would like more flexibility around intermediate city stops. I would like to drop off only not pick up because it’s too hard to be on time due to traffic. Having an option where riders could see the drivers location would be awesome.
Some passengers seem to expect Uber like service. It’s a ride share not a business!
