Got connected quickly to plumber with decent reviews. Unfortunately he was (likely) a scammer. He quoted me a big job (thousands of $$) and wouldn’t even try to snake the pipe. I got second opinion and problem was solved in 20 minutes for much cheaper. Jiffy customer service was great though: very responsive and refunded my money (for the consult) when I provided the 2nd plumber’s written report.

Guys, it’s not great. They match you with trades (you don’t have choice) and they (Jiffy) don’t seem to do anything after that.

They don’t monitor the job, or check in mid way. You’ll just be dealing with the contractor yourself (who may farms the job out and only act as middle man). You pay ten per cent for going through this service. Not good value. In terms of the app itself, need more functionality for scheduling, can’t see duration of job, can’t see updates or changes in writing easily (and they just happen to you, can’t really approve or comment)... it’s really vague.

Washing Machine repair cost $80 x 1.5 for evenings & Weekends,$120/hr to have someone look at the machine. Doesn’t include any parts or fees waive if you chose to do the service with them. **BEWARE**Don’t risk someone coming into your home, looking at the machine for an hour, then oops sorry we can’t fix it or we can’t help.

Several local family owned repair shops in Scarborough, charges average $50-$80/hr doesn’t matter if it’s rain or shine, night or day, even waive the diagnostic fee, if you get it serviced by them.

$400 to resecure two downspouts. After researching it, I did it myself in 10 mins with a screwdriver and spent $7 on a tube of sealant.

Deleted the app. Would have paid $100-$150 for the convenience. But $400 is ridiculous.

Jiffy sent Josh to our house to attack a pretty miserable job of tearing out and cutting back a huge bunch of waist high weeds, vines from my back yard.... it was amazing how much he accomplished is only the 2hrs I asked for!. He was really fantastic contacting me before hand to clarify which areas I wanted him to spend the most time working on... he did a really great job!

I would definitely ask for Josh again to help me with yard tidy up! Great hard working guy!

I’ve had too many issues with contractors on this app. One guy charged me $300 for a simple caulking job, which ended up causing a leak. Another charged me a ridiculous amount of money to install a couple of lights that already had the wiring in place. While Jiffy is good for quick service, finding an honest worker is impossible with this app. You still need to do your research.

They pay big Bucks for good reviews

I loved Jiffy at first, it was so quick and easy to use. But when a “pro” arrived and refused to do a service (which we had discussed in messages beforehand) Jiffy charged me $200 and refused to provide anything but $50 in compensation. If you read their satisfaction guarantee it is based at Jiffy’s discretion so there is a chance you could heavily charged just for someone showing up at your house. If you want to use the app be very clear, because no matter what Jiffy is charging you!

Could use some clarity on billing scheme, specially for extra time. One rogue “pro” tried to sneak in a back door by phoning instead of accepting on line. I have the history if someone wishes to troubleshoot this kind of defect in the operating system which otherwise works real well.

After hearing the ads a few times on various radio stations for Jiffy, I decided to give it a shot and downloaded the app.

I was having trouble finding someone to cut and trim a lawn in the downtown west area of Toronto. Used the Jiffy app, and within a few minutes I had someone accept the job request. On the agreed time the landscaper came and did a great job. I am very happy so far with how easy the app is to use, from booking the work, to being informed of the progress from start to finish.

I will definitely use Jiffy again.

Use it for small jobs. Rip off for big jobs.
