Version 10.0.51
The information offered is top notch, fast updates, multiple sources of information, better than anything on the web and that is what matters most! Thank you for this!
The app itself requires... a lot of internal polishing... to put it nice. For me works ok, just a bit weird here and there.
Thank you again!

Better than BC Wildfires Website

This app provides more info in a single location than the B.C. Wildfires website. Good job for an Alpha build.
It’s unfortunate that some have had a problem loading the app. It works fine for me on several devices. I would suggest those that have had problems perhaps try rebooting their device and try again and see if that resolves it. You are missing a good app.

Really like having this info in an app rather than going to a website. Very useful for wildfire season!

Like everyone else had said, this app won’t go beyond the loading screen. The last update was 4 months ago and the app hasn’t worked since then, if not longer.

Needs some tweaking

Version 10.0.51
I still haven’t spent a lot of time going through the app but it seems to work, though when I first looked at it during a slow fire period across the province I thought it was a little slow. I understood once I saw the data it was accessing. Having worked in a fire centre I know the databases can be quite large. When I tried it, multiple times, during an active fire period it didn’t get past the loading window. I suspect data overload, either at source or in the download, so limited memory requirements, incremental downloads. If the initial download was contained to a specific fire centre region, or file types (FWI, danger rating, etc.) this problem might be less prevalent. As it is now, it’s unworkable when you want it most, during a period of active fires. Unfortunate, as it could be very useful if it worked.
Update: now have it on an iPad and iPhone. Both were stuck on the loading window until I pressed the flame for a second or two which then caused it to open past that point. Worked using that method on both devices. Iphone still said loading....., ipad didn’t. Glad I tried it, but shouldn’t have had to, to pass the loading page. May just need to fix the trigger for page. Not as detailed as I would like but I’m a data junky and speaking as someone who has worked the raw data in the past. Does provide a quick overview of the situation.

App always takes forever to load, that is if it loads at all. Never have a problem with Alberta’s wildfire app.

I just downloaded this, but it looks like it will suit my purposes perfectly and in fact I’m going to recommend it to several friends.
I live near Kamloops, and have recreational property in the Cariboo. I couldn’t even get to my cabin at all last year due to the fires, so the 2017 situation opened my eyes to the tinderbasket that is our province.
Good job, you guys should approach the B.C. wildfire service and get some funding from them.

Agreed with other users. No use in a log in. I hoped it was like the Alberta fire app which works perfectly. The BC one I'll have to pass on for now.
So developer got back and removed the gripe I had. Awesome!

I love this app compared to the BC fire webpage. It is more concise and still gives you the information you need. If you read in the about us section it explains why you have to register. This app is for reporting fires and getting information about fires. Really wish people would read before they make comments.

This app makes me crazy. I registered for it. Nothing would load. So i tried closing the app and logging in again and it said i wasn't registered. So then i registered through Facebook and every time i try to access the app it says. Error. Please fix your app so people can actually use it. And there is no need to even have to register for a map that shows fires. You don't need to register for Alberta's app.

Logins??? I better check on Internet.

I shouldn't have to login to see the info. Took forever to register and login. Much easier to check the website instead of putting so much work into registering and logging in. App will be deleted.

I wish that I had downloaded this app in July during wildfire season! I just got it today and I enjoy the simple layout while maintaining lots of information. I'm curious of what the format will look like to show current wildfires, kinda hoping it will be similar to the Alberta app which shows a map of the province, although I'm sure it will look great however it turns out! Excited to use it during fire season and stay up to date also thank you for creating this app!
