On pouvait espérer bien mieux de Yamaha. J’avais pourtant pris le temps de me renseigner (site F. Charron).
Mais, il faut se rendre compte que ça ne fonctionne tout simplement pas!
Il faut sans cesse « relinker » les différents speaker que l’appli de trouve plus. Depuis quelques temps, impossible de faire fonctionner l’ensemble du système de son de manière synchronisée. Je ne peux plus écouter la radio FM depuis 1 mois.
Parfois, il arrive un miracle et l’ensemble fonctionne à merveille....jusqu’à ce que l’on mette le micro-ondes.... qui fonctionne sur la même longueur d’onde que le système (bravo les ingénieurs!). Et là, tout capotte et plus rien ne fonctionne... il faut réinstaller les enceinte une à une, relinker l’ensemble et se rendre compte que toute la musique est désynchronisée entre les différents haut-parleurs.... quand ça ne griche pas.
Bref un investissement dispendieux pour un résultat très, très décevant!

Yamaha’s NP-S303 network player, two WXC-50 streaming pre-amplifiers set to the Player mode and a WX-010 wifi speaker work beautifully for me, controlled by the MusicCast app on an iPad, iPad Mini and a Samsung S8, and in the past even iPhone 4, playing music from my four various manufacturers’ DLNA servers/NAS drives, TIDAL and Spotify, from hi-res files of 192/24 and DSD, and CD quality at 44.1/16 down to 128bps mp3s. The multi-room playback is flawless and of the same quality as the local all-in-room playback. The user interface is gorgeous. What more to ask for? A total delight!
Application always drops Tidal music stream. Not very impressive when trying to host a party.

The receiver says it has successfully connected to my home wifi router but the app says “connection failed”

Fonctionne adéquatement comme télécommande conventionnelle : contrôle du volume, des sources, de l’équilibrage des canaux et des bandes de fréquences. Permet de gérer efficacement la radio internet.
Pour la lecture de la musique locale sur PC à partir d’un serveur, la situation se gâte. En wifi, des serveurs aussi classiques que Minimserver, logitech media server, foobar2000 server demeurent invisibles sur l’appli musiccast. Pourtant la même bibliothèque est facilement contrôlable par wifi sur une barre de son Sonos et un squeezebox touch situés à côté de l’ampli Musiccast. Ce n’est que par une connexion filaire que j’ai pu avoir accès à ma musique locale sur Musiccast. Je ne parlerai pas de l’interface de navigation archaïque de l’appli qui complique la recherche dans une bibliothèque le moindrement substantielle. À noter enfin que la lecture n’est pas gapless.

I originally bought.2 cast speakers for stand alone.. then because I liked functionality.. I bought a Yamaha Amp.. so
I have several music cast speakers and have constant syncing issues. I also need to continuously relink speakers to get them to work. The app UX is pretty poor. I expected better from Yamaha, you really need to work on your app and firmware. Hoping to see more regular releases to address issues
Cannot connect controller app using an up-to-date iPad and R-N303 AV Receiver. Just keeps saying there is a website problem. I cannot access anything beyond the home page. I would rate it at 0. I also wonder why Yamaha doesn’t seem to have made any effort to improve this app. It seems “users” (not really apt because we cannot use it) have long had problems with it. I am extremely disappointed.
Very fine app works fine with Tidal.
I’ve had my musiccast system for about four years now and love it. This app has been a rock-solid companion throughout, at least for me. Pretty intuitiveinterfaxe (swiping to get back to the main menu took a bit to figure out), but I haven’t had a single problem since day one, on multiple devices.
Hello Devs. The radial volume control(with the haptic feedback) from the AV Controller app is too good to give up. Can you please add it to this app?
Constantly fails. And can’t even play my tunes from Apple Music directly unless I first download them to my phone gone! What a waste. Why did I buy a Yamaha control system... never again.
For two years I have had 8 rooms set up with multiple Yamaha receivers and used MusicCast and the app has gone downhill steadily since. I am now getting “room not found” errors all the time, if I can even get the app to load. (It takes 30 seconds just to open on the best of days.) I don’t understand how Yamaha can mess this up so much after getting off to a promising (albeit late) start. It seems almost like they’ve given up.
Worst music control app ever, has a hard time streaming Sirius XM and the worst is tidal. I have fast internet (300mb/s) and my NAD BLUOS WORKS FINE. A company as big as Yamaha should have the best app that works all the time
For devices supporting alarm clock, that would be great to be able to select specific days.
Otherwise app is very similar to Sonos. In general works great but could be improved.
Got a new cellphone tried almost 1 hour to connect to MusicCast with wifi and It didn’t work . We got a lot of Yamaha product and I am very disappointed. Tried to get support and no answer . I am not recommending Yamaha product if you want to listen to music with bluetooth or wifi .
I have never been so disappointed in system before like I am with the MusicCast system. It worked when first installed but then it stopped responding. I have reinstalling it over and over but with no success. I purchased the Yamaha R-N303 so I could their MusicCast system. I will never buy another Yamaha product again and where possible I will tell potential buyers to stay away from Yamaha.

App does not allow me to add a MusicCast device. Have tried over 20 times and always says there is a error and did not connect, try again. Seems MusicCast is not a faithful way of streaming music. Can’t imagine how bad this would be with up to 10 devices like it advertises.
Update. Rebooted all 3 devices (router, iPhone, and WX-030 speaker) and finally got the speaker to connect and link with the tsr-5790 Yamaha stereo. Will up this to 3 stars now.
Intergration with other apps buggy, remote speak constantly drops and has to be reinstalled
Nearly every time I try to use this with my otherwise terrific CRX-N470 it says “Previously connected device is not found (Code -101)”. Then I have to go through the whole tedious Music Cast setup again. This is very disappointing and frustrating. Yamaha device firmware is up to date. iPhone 6 iOS 11.4.1. Boo. Makes me regret my purchase of a really great-sounding piece of hardware. Considering returning it and never buying Yamaha again.

90% of the time I can’t connect the app to my receiver. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, connected and disconnected from my WiFi, Bluetooth on and off, nothing works.
Very frustrating and over a year later, no updates with any kind of fix. For the amount we spent on this receiver, we’d hoped it would have been a better app to go with it.
This app/system does not work well at all. Frequently loses connections and needs to redone at least a couple of times a week. Too much work to listen to a playlist. Should have gone wit a different system altogether.
on deezer it just stop after every few song. it does not move to the next song.. you have to restart the apps or the re-hit play.. sometime you have to resellect the mode in order for mussicast to re-start playing.

Latest update seems to sit hours in background even when not in use, killed battery (as per apple’s battery usage info screen). My iPhone X went to 5% battery from full within 7 hours (not at all normal for me). Please fix.
I recently purchased a R-N602 receiver and downloaded this app for ease of use. It disconnects after every use and I have to go through the whole setup again the next time I want to use it. It is garbage software. I have never used something that has this many issues with connectivity. I will not be purchasing any Yamaha products in the future. I have never written a review in the App Store however this experience has been so frustrating I was compelled. If you are thinking of Yamaha MusicCast products for your home I would think again.
I have been using this app for about ten months now hoping it would get better but seems to get worse. Keeps searching for songs that will play with the app and then finally gives up and stops playing and also using more than one speaker it will drop after just a few minutes of playing and is a pain to try and get hooked back up.

Was working great until updated my phone to newest software, now every time I try to connect to the system via his app all I get is problems. Any one know of a solution? Does the app need to be upgraded?
I have to re-configure the controller app each time I want to play music. For some reason it doesn’t “remember” the connection settings from the previous session A piece of crap.
Sounds great until the app bugs down for many reasons ( not mentioning being unable to read on iTunes). Very bad Q.A. !!!

Great when it can actually connect. I have two receivers, can play from anything to either of them. But the number of times I’m standing there like a complete idiot trying to connect this app and turn the volume up or down is embarrassing. System is awesome but the apps are mediocre.
This app works great and works as stated, the musiccast service is amazing in general, but there is room for improvement and more features.
1. Would be great to have Apple Music support, doesn’t seem it’s Apple to play a song from Apple Music, you have to play the song right from the music app, not a huge deal but would be nice if it worked
2. Apple watch app would be nice. Nothing to complicated but something to select a room and adjust its volume like you can with the widget.
Trying to use music cast for airplay from iTunes and it keeps forgetting the room, dropping the device after a couple songs. I have to redo setup every time I leave and return to the space. It’s a junk software.
Great sound quality and idea but I cannot play any song I’ve downloaded from Apple Music. Even if they are downloaded on my device, the MusicCast app says it is ‘unable to play’. Would love just that to work or even native integration
...was concerned the upgrade "broke" SiriusXM streaming, but issue resolved after rebooting router & iPhone and restarting app.
Multiple rooms will only work through app itself which does not support Apple Music or Spotify except for one speaker at a time
