Update September 20 2020 Just upgraded to IOS 14. Lost all information. Had to re-connect to as well as reset factory settings. History has disappeared as well as a favorite. Just awful app. The old app was much better.

So disappointed with this “update”. I liked the old app much better. Not easy to go back to the home page and I’m not sure it updates in real time. I have to lose the app then re-open to see the current battery level. Can’t resume where the Iribot left off prior to recharging or emptying the bin.

On both our iPhones as well as on my iPad the app is non functional.

Not only has it erased all our schedules, I’m now unable to access schedule to create or edit. Some app windows open but won’t fully populate.

It’s like it has been released without any vetting in any way.

Come on iRobot.

We’ve been your customer since the 400 series, and both the 9s robot and this new app have been the worst products you have released since the beginning.

Love the new app, but since the update I am finding that room a no longer cleans an entire room properly. It finishes jobs way too quickly and there is always still dust and debris where it says it has cleaned. Please fix...

Update: ran two jobs today. Both times I started the job and left the house. Both times the room a had returned to base and did not save history of its jobs. So I have no way to validate that the jobs actually ran? Ran a third job and this time I followed the roomba. Couldn’t find one of the rooms that it used to find with no problems. Had to stumble around for 5 minutes to find it. Never should have updated this app...

Since I’m using my iPad on landscape I wish the app support landscape mode. I need to remove my iPad from the keyboard and use it on portrait. Second suggestion is to support Apple HomeKit. I can integrate with the other accessory if it’s possible.

The new user Internet face seems to actively make it very difficult to do anything. You can’t just clean a room you have to create a “favourite” activity for cleaning that room. You can’t clean the bins on vacuums if it’s saving maps which takes quite a long time. The screen is full of usefully information like notifications and videos going in the background it really makes me wonder why I bought six robots.

The new interface is very nice however when viewing the map or anything that you need to click the back button for you cannot see it as it is white on white... I can definitely see a lot of users closing the app just to re-open it to get to the main screen again because the back button is in white on white in the upper left corner so hard and difficult to see I feel bad for the elderly who probably cannot see it. It should have been done in black.

Bought my i7+ robot in June, for each job I could select the cleaning passes. Automatic, one and two passes, for a smaller high traffic area I could select two passes etc. Now I can only select one cleaning type for the whole robot can’t select it by job. If I bought this robot and had this limitation initially I would have returned it and chosen another brand. I was going to return it before finding the two pass feature which at the time saved me a headache. This update sucks, you removed a useful feature to add an automation feature that no one needs.

On my iPad Pro, there is no support of landscape mode. I have a keyboard attached it is very odd to have the app sideways in portrait mode.

The new app is awesome! It flows really well looks amazing and just works so much better!!

Cleaning zones are another great feature in addition to keep out zones with the 5.0 update!

The only thing is with the new smart automations integrations like August and Ecobee it would be cool to see Siri Shortcut support added as well!

It pains me to give iRobot a poor review because I love my Roomba and Braava and because the app is beautifully designed, is simple and works well for the most part. But developers cannot rest on their laurels and must keep up with new features to maintain satisfaction.

iRobot works with Alexa and Google Home and there’s no reason whatsoever why it shouldn’t work with Siri. iOS provides the API through Siri Shortcuts and has for well over a year now. Many many apps, including those by small bedroom developers, have offered Shortcuts from the beginning. There is no excuse for iRobot to neglect this.

There are workarounds to use Siri via IFTTT but it’s complicated and inaccessible to average users. iRobot, please don’t take Apple ecosystem users for granted. We deserve as much attention as Alexa and Google users. We all spent the money to buy your robots.

Please add Siri Shortcuts and if you really want to impress us, add direct HomeKit support.
