i was using communauto with the basic ''Open/Liberté'' rate but since I found +$50 per day high, an employee recommended that I upgrade to the ''Value/economic'' package at $40 per year plus $500 deposit. After booking 2-3 cars, I realized that the prices are much more expensive than with the basic open package. When I call to complain (after several attempts to call, because we wait forever to be able to speak to someone) the lady on the phone just tells me that it is not possible to change your plan before a year (information that his colleague had not mentioned to me). No one is trying to find a way to accommodate the user. I am really frustrated and disgusted with this service.
That the best for me would be to take the flex cars and not in the station. Knowing that there is almost never a flex car in my area on weekends. It's definitely my last year with them.

The amount of times I double tap it because I think the input didn’t go through is insane. Not to mention then it blocks of the car for 30 MINS and charged $20 bucks.
I don’t care if red isn’t part of the UI color scheme, use RED.
I’ll change this review to 5 stars if you do, but for the love of GOD please!

several ways to improve are
• technical: customers without data or who ran out should be able to call an automated number to release the vehicle; those who have slow internet connections on their smartphones should not have to see the home page load all the available cars in the area and another 10 minutes to lock or unlock the car
• concierge: the customer support within app, website, and even e-mail are really lacking

Nouvel utilisateur depuis 1 mois. Malgré quelques petits bogues occasionnels (tous faciles à contourner par un simple rafraîchissement), l’appli répond adéquatement à mes attentes en terme d’utilisation du service (bloquer une voiture Flex, faire une réservation, consulter mon état de compte, afficher les disponibilités, recherche dans les stations, etc). Je trouve l’appli facile à utiliser, fiable, et j’aime l’interface simple et efficace. J’ai plein d’idées de fonctionnalités additionnelles qui seraient souhaitables, et j’espère donc que Communauto aura les ressources financières pour continuer de développer et d’améliorer l’appli.

Stay away from this app. Horrible user interface, lacking customer support and they have ben charging me every month for insurance where I haven’t even used their services till date. I chose the open plan and thought I will only be billed once I actually use it. Not only that, they locked me in for 12 months, so I am paying every month whether I use their service or not. Horrendous experience

Malheureusement, j’ai fait le changement pour la nouvelle application. Et ça ne fonctionne pas. Je ne peux pas voir les emplacements des véhicules, je ne peux pas consulter mes trajets. Pourrai-je déverrouiller le véhicule ou le libérer via l’app si elle ne fonctionne pas? J’en doute… Espérons qu’une mise à jour viendra régler le problème. 🤞🏻 J’utilise un iPhone 12, sur iOS 16.5 (20F66)
3 mois plus tard : pas de mise à jour de l’application. Donc, toujours inutilisable. Triste.

The app is focused heavily on reserving cars far in advance over being a city ride sharing app.
Often there are no cars nearby, and in the summer, there are no cars available at all on weekends as everyone takes them out to the mountains since it’s the same cost as renting a car. People often reserve flex cars for long periods “just in case” which means you often can’t find a car when you need one.

Before you decide to get a membership with Communauto, be ready to have to pay charges that will make absolutely no sense to you. I had to pay $350 dollars for the company to move the car I parked in the proper zone. I CALLED and waited an hour to make sure what I did was correct. The lady was understanding and let me know the charge would be $97, and the timer would be stopped. To my surprise, two months later I get a charge of $350 because what I did was not okay. Even though the lady TOLD ME it was all good. I called today. Once more waiting monde than an hour to receive assistance, just to be told that they needed proof of why I would have done this and thought it was okay. To which the obvious answer is. Listen to the call I had on this specific day. And would you believe me if I told you that, there was never a recording? It somehow just, is not there? I could not believe it. They tried to tell me it was maybe another number (no), that I should have known better (no, especially when told what I did was okay), and that there was nothing they could do. I am thinking of suing them. Your company is supposed to record EVERYTHING. And somehow mine is not there? The only alibi I have, has disappeared on your end? I want a refund, or I will sue.

La version 2 prend parfois une éternité à démarrer, son volet de recherche se manipule maladroitement sur un iPhone et la liste des trajets se rafraîchit souvent très lentement. Depuis la nouvelle version de l’application il semble impossible de sélectionner la langue de l’application, je présume qu’elle default à celle du système, qui est l’anglais dans mon cas, mais je préférerais utiliser l’application en français sans avoir a changer la langue de mon téléphone au complet, comme on pouvait le faire avant. C’est extrêmement déplaisant pour une application faite au Québec!

I have been a big advocate of communauto, until today. It has been a huge help with the car renting services from communauto from past 1 yr and I loved it.
But the safety of cars is subpar and sometime the cars are damaged and communauto doesn’t even repair them, thats very sad and negligence. To top off the customer care person I spoke just said the cars works fine and you can ride it. Even when I asked what if the police stop me due to the damage to the bumper and bottom tail light which was loose, he said that not to worry.

The new app is :
- Way slower (what used to take 1s now takes 5 seconds+)
- Worse interactions and UX (missing feedback that we used to have e.g when the refresh of the map is finished)
- Worse interface : unwanted windows taking 2/3rds of your screen, or panels permanently stuck at the bottom of your screen
- Useful features removed : can’t hide station vehicles when you only want to see flex ones anymore??
And I’m still looking for any improvement that makes a difference.

I don’t know who tested this app on iOS but the new 2.0 app is an utter disaster. It only works 50% of the time on Wi-Fi, which is borderline useless for an app that you need when you’re searching for a car out in the world. It only works 5% of the time on mobile data. It repeatedly fails to connect to the Internet, and / or the Communauto service to find cars, or to activate the credit card for gas, or to be able to return the car at the end of your time. Every time I want to return a car. I have to call Service to have them close the rental.
Communauto it’s a great service, far better than anything we’ve had before, way better than enterprise car share, or any other car sharing system that we can get here in Toronto Canada. But it’s completely useless if it can’t work through your phone when you’re away from Wi-Fi. Such a shame they didn’t do proper testing to prevent this kind of

Depuis son installation, mon expérience utilisateur est passée de satisfaisante avec l’ancienne version a frustrante avec la nouvelle version. L’assurance qualité devrait être une priorité chez Communauto, mais cela fait défaut.

Since installing the new version, it brings a red error banner at the top saying “an error occurred, please try again later”. It’s disappointing. Nothing loads and the green circle spins forever. Account section says “something went wrong…”. I guess you guys messed it up. Will take a while for me to think about using this again. Sorry.

Always slow, full of bugs, and crushing all the time. There are a lot of apps out there with even more users but they work perfectly smooth. This app is a nightmare.

I enjoy the new interface and more intuitive buttons. However, on my iPhone 14 mini it takes forever to load at any option. When I search for a round trip car, when I try to book that car, when I try and book a flex. Spinning for 30 secs before confirming any option is tedious and not an upgrade from the old app.
