I read the other feedbacks but It seems fine to me? None of the problems mentioned by others occurred to me. Seems fine and dandy.
The Cengage Mobile app allows students and instructors to stay engaged with courses, in-class and out. For students, the app offers offline reading, gradebook access, and notifications for key course events. For instructors, the app offers an easy way to check class grades, take attendance, and create polls that keep students engaged.
To use this app, you must have an active Cengage account. You can use the app to access:
- Cengage unlimited ebooks
- MindTap, CNOWv2, or SAM* courses and ebooks
- Any ebooks purchased through cengage.com
*(Note that SAM users must be either enrolled in MindTap or use SAM in conjunction with an LMS.)
eBooks*: Download your textbook with offline access! Browse between different chapters, search for specific pages and terms, or take notes, highlights and bookmarks. Have the book read aloud using Text-to Speech.
Flashcards & Flashcard Quizzes: Study on the go using pre-made flashcard decks. Then check your knowledge with key term-generated quizzes.
Activity Lists: Stay on top of all your assignments with to-do lists! Browse all the assignments and activities in your course and view due dates. For World Languages courses, you can even do homework assignments in the app. We plan on rolling this out to more courses in the future.
Notifications & Reminders: Easily set up due date reminders and get notified of grade and due date changes.
Gradebook: See your overall grade for the course as well as the breakdown of grades by various activities. You can also view instructor comments and grade changes! Access to the gradebook requires additional authentication, by either password, fingerprint, or face ID.
In-Class Polling and Attendance: Instructors can check if students are in the classroom using geolocation or by allowing remote check-ins. They can also review and edit attendance records, and export them to their preferred gradebook. Instructors can also author in-class polls, review the results with the whole class, and export those results.
*A note on ebooks: We currently support the majority of course-related and Cengage Unlimited ebooks. Textbooks from 2014 and prior as well as international or custom titles are not supported. Annotations do not currently sync with web-based readers.

I loved the book and the app! I used a lot both the book and the app!
It doesn’t allow us to make home work and assignments by mobile! Since it’s not everyone that has access to a computer it makes hard to complete exercises and get marks. It’s useful for study cards and contents.
Difficult to read on tablet. Cannot adjust text size except by zooming in page by page and page section by page section. Slows down my reading.
It's finicky at best. Dictionary function does not work most of the time, index doesn't work properly, and it interferes with the music app and shuts it down so I can't listen to the music while I read. Awful.
I normally don’t leave reviews but this time I have to because this app is a complete trash. I’m sorry for harsh words but reading textbook on it is a misery. I would give 0 if I could.
Very slow, and right during exam season the app no longer works and continues to crash. The one time of the year I need the 140$ text book rental that I paid for I can’t use it. Rad
It was working perfectly fine before, not it’s just lagging. I don’t know if this is a new update or change, but it’s extremely slow and that’s frustrating because I’m trying to learn!!!
Can’t believe I had to pay money for a digital textbook just to access quizzes online when my university has a perfectly good online system to do quizzes on. Hated reading the textbook digitally so much I had to buy a hard copy. More money for you guys 🙄 hope you’re happy because i’m not.
I like the app. I only wish that it would be easier to search, like toggle between the items that have the results and wish for man’s voice to read the info.
Close the App for a second and lose your spot in the book. Why wouldn’t it just load to where you last were? Might as well just haul around your physical copy of the text book with a book mark! Come on you can do better!
Scrolling is slow and if you accidentally scroll left or right it moves you to the next or previous chapter and you lose the spot where you were. Very frustrating especially if you’re near the end of a chapter because you’ll be scrolling for days.
I would appreciate if you can fix the issue whereas when the speaker reads the text she seems to skip sentences. Thanks!
Reading the text is really tough. Whole text is on one slide and it’s hard to scroll properly. Losing text position is hard as well. I don’t know if I use the reading bot properly but I can’t choose the spot where to start reading. It just starts reading from the beginning.
this app needs significant guide service for its users. And it never matches the PC interfaces
Love the app, only issues are the page numbers missing, the out loud reader that skips sentences randomly and the fact that some images sometimes do not load properly for my screen size. Otherwise, it’s great!
You pay $100 for a required textbook and don’t even get page numbers which are assigned. Ridiculous
My main beefs with this app is that there are no page numbers to correspond with assigned readings, and closing the app for a minute causes you to lose your place in the book. These are easily fixable. The 3 stars flow from decent navigation and quick loading.
I just lost every single note and highlight because of an update 5 days before my exam. Are you kidding me ?
Amazing! It’s the best educational app I have ever used!
Not able to use on iPad
I really love this app and it’s allowing me to study on the go!
No issues or blips but the voice reader is quite annoying and could really use an update from the robot.
Usually, when I skip ahead or back in the book, it takes the app so long to load and display the supposedly offline textbook pages that I have time to find what I want from the web while I wait. I appreciate how nicely organized the material can be through this platform compared to fixed-layout ebook readers, but there's so much room for improvement on speed and reliability of the dynamic layout content viewer this app uses to display "eTexts" (like the first-year university textbook I'm required to use for math).
I use it and like it although I think it could have more graphics and visual aids. Also I can’t figure out why the quiz gives the answer every time in the actual question. Defeats the purpose of a quiz!
I wish there were videos or animation to describe and demonstrate the concept and brain processes.
This app is the reason I can’t use I forgot my textbook as an excuse 👍🏽😂 I procrastinate less because of this
It crashes all the time, If you’re trying to type out your notes it’ll screw up the entire software. Logs you out whenever. Pearson E-Text is so much better
Great start. The ability to have the chapters audio read is nice and very helpful.
I wish it was easier to navigate within the chapters. Especially when in audio mode.
My text is divided into parts and has the chapters within. It is hard to get to the specific chapter.
I’m sure these things will be worked out but the absolute best feature is the audio read. Love that I can Bluetooth it to my vehicle and crush a chapter on the drive.
I paid for 3 books this semester that use this platform. But one of the titles are not available on the app! I paid for it, I should at least have access to the book on my app!
To the ones I do can access, it is all good. I would give 4 or maybe even 5 stars if I had access to all I paid for!
Just a crappy e reader. Does a really annoying thing with the menu popping up when you are trying to read, scrolling endlessly really sucks, the highlighting feature barely works.
Anywhere, Anytime. Easy to use, in the palm of your hand.
I can check the book everywhere, watch videos and do my quizzes easily in any place
I can login but nothing is supported, huge waste of time and support has no clue. They couldn’t find my account despite my ability to login and view the course. Only way to access the content is via web based computer but that doesn’t help as you can’t view anything offline which is an open book exam requirement for my particular course.
no features work on the mobile app. It is just a really poor excuse for a e-reader.
BETTER THAN THE TEST BANK LOL
Exclusively an etext reader. No assignments available, flash required. $99 per course, per student, every year & can’t use at all on an iOS device.
I liked having access to my text on the go, especially if I was a bit behind with reading (read this on the bus on the way to campus a lot). I also used the flash cards often. I found them helpful and was more confident participating in class discussion with the right terms.
I can’t view my textbooks, I can’t download them and I can’t access anything. Never been so disappointed in an app.
I am in middle of semester and this app says register again. I can access through my laptop but. Not on this app. Waste of money. I think developers are sleeping.
It really helped me study and stay on track.
The app just turns into blind white screen when you trying to read the e-text book, seriously that’s all i wanted from this app and it fails me. Please fix it..
Doesn't even launch, keeps closing
I downloaded this app because if I am in s rush I can just pull it up and do some quizzes to revise, but this app doesn't allow u too so it's pointless
I loved using MindTap for my college Courses. The ability to have it on my phone was great. However, as an app it's not the best. It really only has flash cards and short quizzes of the definitions on the app. Many of the features of the online version of MindTap should be integrated. As well, the flash cards often have the answer in the definition and bolded so you can't quiz yourself with them. All around this app is convenient but needs numerous improvements to make it useful for studying.
This app is great if you want to read the text from your app. Pretty much nothing else though.
Not as good as the desktop version, you can't do the practice tests on mobile. But you can read the book wherever
I can't do the quizzes on it for my class so I have no real use for this app.
Giving you a 2 star because exercise are not a available on the app or the mobile site so what's the point?
Load times are very long. Seems like better servers are needed, or more capacity.
