Finally, the album that gets me. This album is inspiring, and encouraging, with a hint of excitement. It really does bring you right back into the movie too, from the very beginning to the very end, and the song "time" absolutely blew me away. It really digs deep inside of you and brings up you're inner self you could say. Anyways this album is terrific, you should get it:)

I know this film came out a few years ago, however I still can't believe how incredible this score is! Each track is so powerful and breathtaking. Simply amazing! Oh and the movie itself is one of my all time favorites.

Simply... Amazing

In a word: amazing. Listening to this puts you in an almost trance as you work. You look at the clock and hours have gone by with the soundtrack replaying over and over again.
Like the movie itself with every listen your ears focus in on a different sound, a different aspect and it puts you into a different state of mind. The songs flow with perfection and once again Hans Zimmer has proved to be in a league all to his own.
105 ratings. 104 five stars and one four star. What else is there to be said?

Hans Zimmer has proved himself "Time" and time again with incredible works on many major films. His work on "Pirates..." and "Angels and Demons" was simply beautiful. Even if you thought the third movie was crap (which it wasn't), there's no doubt Hans Zimmer upped the ante with that amazing score. (Check out songs like "One Day", and "Drink Up Me Hearties" from "Pirates", and "503", "160 BPM", and "God Particle" from "Angels and Demons" to see what I'm talking about.
Now Inception. The score for Inception seemed to have a lot of bloggers, and forum writers confused as at first the score seems to revolve almost solely around the massive brass section Hans used for this score. However, closer inspection of the songs will reveal a very intricate score leading to the heavy, pounding, explosive brass which finishes many songs on this album. (A good example of exactly this is "528491")
While some may find some songs "repetative", you'll certanily notice the uniqueness between each song when you properly listen to it. "Mombasa" is the song from the chase scene in this movie. It's not the best "chase scene music" but it is original and worth the money.
"528491" Is the music from the "reconciliation" scene between Fischer and his dying father, and is the #2 song from this album.
But the undeniable, unquestionable, not-up-for-debate, best song on this entire score and certainly one of the best songs Hans Zimmer has ever composed. It's slow build up from simple, beautiful piano, then slowly adding the strings, until the whole orchestra (electric guitar included) is crashing around in some of the most beautiful and "epic" sound waves you have ever heard. This song is from the scene where Cobb finally wakes up on the plane all the way unitl the scene where we - almost - see the spinning top fall. It is something to hear.
I strongly suggests buying this album ("Time" is a must, if nothing else) and enjoy each bit about it, from the crashing "BUUUUUUUURRRRRRR!!!!!!", to the last keys of Hans Zimmer personally playing the piano.

I'm not usually one for this kind of music, but this was beautiful. 'Time' is incredible - haunting, captivating, hypnotic. You must listen if you haven't.

I just got a pair of bose headphones and i gotta say.... this is fricken incredible, anyone and everyone should buy this album. There is only one complaint i have with it, and that is that it sometimes takes a minute to get into the songs but each one of them is a masterpiece. Hanz better win an oscar.

Breath taking.

Hans Zimmer has really outdone himself with the Inception soundtrack. As I listened to it, I could picture where each song would fit in the movie. "Time" is one of my favourites, although its hard to choose because every song will touch you profoundly and move you in a different way. I love "Time" because of its simplicity and complexness at the same time. Its simple because of the same repeating notes, but complex in how it makes you feel. The music from the movie is simply breath taking. Hans Zimmer...congratulations on a major hit! :)

When it's the music that makes the movie, you've gotta buy the soundtrack. Beautiful and haunting, this score is food for imagination, and my favourite song, 'Time', will send shivers down your spine.

Hanz Zimmer is absolutely unsurpassed when it comes to movie scoring. This was a fantastic movie that was perfectly complemented by the soundtrack. Powerfully evocative of the movie and of parts of life.

Hans Zimmer is one of the greatest coposers ever. He has a way of creating music that dominates a film and leaves watchers breathless. His music does not take away from the cinematography but instead he enhances it and makes the watcher feel part of the film with all senses: sight, sound, and feel. His music creates the feeling the movie is trying to convey, it is sheer genius. I first fell in love with Hans Zimmer's soundtracks with Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3. He created music that makes you feel what the actors are feeling, whether its happiness, anguish, excitement or, in the case of inception, that you as the listener are constantly rushing against the clock.
Time on the Inception soundtrack is a piece that I will never forget. Its haunting and causes your heart to race along with the characters on screen. It is beautiful. Another wonderful piece to this soundtrack, as with most of Hans' pieces is the entertwining of a love theme into an action piece. The love theme reminds you much of what the characters are striving for and who they are either trying to get to, get away from, or save. Hans Zimmer weaves a beautiful soundtrack with all the elements without relying too much on one or getting too sappy.
Hans Zimmer truly is the best composer for film of our time and deserves the recognition for it. What would a movie, especially one of this magnitude, be without a soundtrack? It would be some pretty faces (Leo's to be exact) and action scenes. The soundtrack ties all the pieces of a movie together. The props, costumes, great acting, and amazing story writing is brilliant but the soundtrack is what really makes everything flow and creates a thread that can be pulled throughout the entire story, unifying the entire movie. Next time you see Inception or anyother movie, ask yourself "what would it be like without the soundtrack?" This will help anyone appreciate the soundtrack, not a just some background music, but as a huge part of the movie that makes you enjoy it even more. Hans Zimmer has outdone himself with this one, and truly makes a great movie extrodinary!!!!

You Are The Best!!

This soundtrack is personally my new favourite soundtrack score to a motion picture. I thought this is what helped make the movie as good as it was. It sent chills down my spine and got me on the edge of my seat and it's a complete delight to listen to it on its own. Hans your soundtracks from Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Sherlock Holmes were amazing, but this tops them all!

I've been a Zimmer fan for a while now, and this just blew my mind. I bought the album the day it came out, about a week before I saw the movie, and I could not stop listening to it. Especially "Time".... Now after seeing the movie four times, each time I listen to it I see that beautiful ending scene... It brings me to tears, every time. So perfect.

Genius film. Great score.

Genius of a film and a superb score, both no surprise. Score's a little too eerie to listen to all the way through...so certainly sort of a 'have to be in the mood' type thing. Except 'Time' and 'Mombassa' I can listen to anytime. If you are enthralled by 'Time', you will want to at least get 'Journey to the Line' from Zimmer's score for "The Thin Red Line." You will be in awe and in it you will hear the very close relationship between the two tracks. TRL is also a score worth having in its entirety. If you haven't seen that film already, I can't even begin to tell you what you are missing.

Hans Zimmer is no doubt, if not the best, one of the best music composers still lived. The inception soundtrack, although not so much dynamic in terms of melody, is able to bring a listener right back to the movie itself without having to see the actual screening. especially the last piece "Time", it is just speechless.

I'm firmly convinced that a good soundtrack can make or break a movie. In Inception's case, Hans Zimmer wrote the perfect complement to an excellent movie.
The final track "Time" captures the catharsis intended at the very end, but you would be a fool to buy just the track and miss out on the rest of the album. Best when listened to loud.

This album is a masterpiece. Hans Zimmer is a genius. The music is powerful, hypnotic, deeply emotional - and yes, "Time" definitely stands out. From the ebb and flow of its melody, to the way it slowly builds up in intensity, to that magnificent ending... it's perfect.

Time is an absolutely epic, masterful song, and the real standout on the soundtrack. Get this just for that song, but the rest of the album is great too!

Personally, I thought Inception was the best movie ever. A movie cannot be great if all it's parts don't come together, and in this case they all did, including the music. Masterful; Hanz Zimmer you are my hero.

Immediately the dark tones of the most recent "Dark Knight" can be heard from the first song. That contagious beat has followed me around from the moment I first heard it. Each and every one of these songs offers something new with a touch of something old. If you're already a Zimmer fan, I don't have to convince you. For those of you who are not, this may be a great way to delve into soundtrack scores.
