The Tijuana act has a way with raucous and rousing drinking songs

The Tijuana-bred Grupo Firme has a way with drinking songs on the aptly named live set Puras Pa’ Pistear. Raucous and rousing opener “Falsa Alarma” sets the boozy tone perfectly with its animated accordion, boisterous brass, and bachelor bluster. From there, lead vocalist Eduin Caz offers up tempered if explicit barroom musings on tracks like “Me Pierde Por Wey” and “Aquí No Es,” as well as lovelorn reflections on the closing “Cómo Le Digo.” Los Del Roble join for the soused kiss-off “Señorita,” while La Pauta Crew moves the proceedings a few bottles deeper with the spiteful “Borrón Y Cuenta Nueva.”
